Cincinnati Fire Department  -  Stations & Apparatus
The Cincinnati Fire Department - was organized in 1853 and is the nation’s oldest fully paid professional fire department.

The Operations Bureau
is responsible for the daily activities of all fire companies, suppression fire prevention activities and is under the command of Assistant Fire Chief Corbett.

The Operations Bureau
is the largest division of the fire department. Under the direction of the Operations Division Chief, the division employs 18 District Fire Chiefs, with 27 Engine Companies; 12 Truck Companies; 2 Heavy Rescue Company; 1 Bomb Unit (Engine 14): 3 Foam Units; and 4 Boats. All EMS units are now paramedic (Medic) and are no longer categorized as Paramedic and Ambulances (ALS-BLS). There are also 3 additional ALS units, staffed by a supervisor. who run as a single person unit. They do not transport, but respond as an additional medic when needed, and to select incidents as dictated by dispatch protocol. They are currently responding to all Heroin OD's. along with a Medic unit and a company.
